westcoast tour, single, record
we've set up a fun little west coast tour with fun, limbeck and my favorite highway! it's goin' down just before we get out a 7" single (im hoping at least, oh about, a couple hundred of you have record players [but if not, buying the 7" will be like a preorder for the normal format full length that'll be coming out shortly after]). oh look at that, i covered all three topics in one short paragraph. usually it takes me about 3400 words to get a single point across. I WIN AGAIN!click on "gigs" for the dates brah! its gonna be an end of summer extravaganza!

just so it doesn't look like we haven't updated in ages...
so i dreadfully neglect this news page... it doesn't mean things haven't been happening. i've just been so awful at publicizing them here. if you've stumbled across this page wondering what's become of your favorite teen heart throbs (uhm, yes... us.) you should know a few exciting things!- we're almost done with a rad new record that has been coming along shreddingly as of late (see the photos section for some recording pics, check out our retreat to big bear). it'll DEFINITELY/FINALLY come out this fall. quote me on that shit brah.
- we've been playing some shows in the last year to keep the gears from rusting up, maybe you've seen us pop up at your local college getting fratty. we'll be going out on tour this fall, augustish - decemberish. AREN'T YOU EXCITED?!?
- we've been much more active at the other online depositories of hellogoodbye information (our MYSPACE, TWITTER, MY PHOTOJOURNAL) so you should start checking those places till we get our whole "new record" thing all released n stuff.

bbq tour, ukulele ep
okay, big news. we're going out on tour this fall. maybe you were hoping i'd say we have a new record and you can go get it free right now and it comes with a lifetime subscription to FHM and a really cool worn in abercrombie trucker hat or a tee shirt that says FBI female body inspector or something spectacular like that. but we don't. there is a video of us dinkin' around with our dinks in the studio and a ukulele demo of what could possibly be a new song on our profile page, though. and it looks pretty pitchfork if i do say so myself. and we're gonna be playing at least a couple new jammies on said tour.
which leads me to what we DO have: a wee little tour set up this oct/nov and i couldn't be more thrilled. it feel like its been forever since we've toured and even longer since we toured where it felt like we were touring and this one is gonna be classic americana tour. the way the good ole boys do it. so whats up with it? it goes from oct 23rd up untill nov 30th or something from coast to coast across this great golden nation. ace enders (ex early nov), play radio play, never shout never (curiously similar band names?) and say no more are going to be playing various dates. we're gonna be *trying* to hang out and grill up goodies before the show at a potluck sort of BBQ thing (though... im not a dilt... i do know its gonna be november... so it might get a little chilly for a parking lot BBQ). so im particularly excited to do the old kick back thing with everyone before the show since i never got invited to real kickbacks in high school. its gonna be super small venues and its been a while since i've been able to really cop a feel on somebody in the front row so thats gonna be great. and dont be shy. cop a feel on me too. or someone near you. as long as you dont feel like theres cops around. also this tour is special because i made good on my casual mentioning of a veggie oil van for tour. we're gonna be traveling from place to place in a diesel van thats been converted to run on recycled veggie oil. we're doing lots of other stuff to be frugal with our earth killing practices. we're gonna keep earth killing to a minimum. the NEXT tour is gonna be the MAXIMUM EARTH KILLING TOUR. that one is gonna shred. we're def gonna have some very special very limited merch dealies available. maybe even a little diy ep or something.
this tour is pretty much gonna be everything i ever wanted in a tour and since its so small you MIGHT wanna get tickets early. also come early and bring grub to hang out and have some of my signature fajita tacos unless its snowing and a real bummer out.
lets see here. tickets for fanclub (we have a fanclub???) goes on sale tomorrow. and tickets go on sale for everyone else (... everyone?) goes on sale this saturday at 10 am long beach ca time.
oh and i should DEFINITELY mention our good friend joseph marro (from joseph marro and the humdrum, also early november) is now playing keyboards for us and we all couldn't be more jazzzzzed. joe is an AWESOME nice guy we met on warped tour and after exchanging many mix cds and nerding out on all sorts of things it was clear we would be friends forever. jesse is going back to college just like kanye. so good for him. the only school i know is "school for scoundrels" with that one guy from napoleon dynamite. wait. is he even in that movie? i didn't see it. but i picture him and iggy pop on the cover or something. yeahhh.
basically this tour is gonna be alllll about broing down hardcore style so if you dont know joe from the early november or travis (he used to play in radiohead) or me (i used to manage boy bands like the backstreet boys but i got arrested) come out and give us creepy old man hugs.
